TĀLAVA Cider creates 100% natural apple ciders and expands the boundaries of traditional beverage categories and flavor perceptions.

Our Story

It all started back in 2013, when our founder - a true Gulbene local (from the historic land once called Tālava) - decided it was time to turn a dream into something real. Surrounded by orchards bursting with apples, the idea was simple, but bold - make drinks that taste like home, but feel like a discovery. Drinks that would show just how many flavors one small corner of Latvia could hold.

Like all great adventures, TĀLAVA began small - in a parent’s garage, with nothing but a 1000L tank, a stubborn streak for quality and a whole lot of heart. Every apple was chosen by hand, every batch made with care. And somehow, in that little garage, magic happened.

Today, TĀLAVA is still a family-run - only now the horizons are wider, the cans travel further and every sip still carries the same story of orchards, of tradition, of daring to create something that lasts.

Apples

The ciders are made using carefully selected apples from local farms and natural fruit juices. The cider house takes pride in cold-pressing the juice without the use of concentrates, artificial flavors, or added water. TĀLAVA ciders are complemented with natural quince, cherry, rhubarb juices, and hops.

Ciders

TĀLAVA produces sparkling ciders packaged in cans made from recycled aluminum, with labels made from an innovative blend of organic materials and recycled plastic. Alongside alcoholic ciders, a non-alcoholic cider is also produced. TĀLAVA ciders have been awarded in international competitions, including the International Cider Challenge, Japan Cider Cup 2023, Cider World Award, and SISGA Asturias. TĀLAVA ciders are suitable for vegan and gluten-free diets.

TĀLAVA welcomes both individual visitors and groups to tour the cider house, share the story of the art of cider-making, and enjoy TĀLAVA ciders together with snacks that highlight the drink’s flavors.

Non-alcoholic Apple Cider

Golden, juicy, and gently fizzy - real apple notes with a juicy, medium-sweet finish and real cider depth.
Crafted to preserve natural fermentation flavors while gently removing alcohol.
100% natural juice from crisp Latvian apples, including heritage and dessert varieties for a rich and layered taste.

Best enjoyed between: 5-7 °C

Pair with:  veggie burgers, picnic sandwiches, fresh salads or as a fizzy treat on any afternoon.

Apple Cider with Hops

Botanical Cider, Semi-sweet, Modern Style, Sparkling, 5% ABV, Contains sulphites

Golden and lively, this one’s for those who love their cider with a little zing. You’ll get bright golden hue with a crisp apple base, lifted by subtle citrus bitterness and floral hop aromas. Notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and fresh herbs. Fermented for nine months, then dry-hopped right before bottling to keep things fresh, bright and extra aromatic.

100% real juice from Latvian apples - some wild, some heritage, all grown with care in our cool northern orchards.

Best enjoyed between: 8-10 °C

Pair with: Asian dishes, spicy tacos, grilled white meats, falafel wraps or that Friday night cheeseboard.

Apple Cider with Cherry & Rhubarb

Fruit Cider, Semi-sweet, Modern Style, Sparkling, 4.5% ABV, Contains sulphites

Naturally blushed pink - like a summer sunset in your glass. Tart rhubarb, juicy sour cherries and crisp apples come together in a fruity, refreshing mix that’s anything but ordinary.

Made with fresh juice from local apples, then blended with our cold-pressed cherry and rhubarb juice. No added colors - that pretty pink is 100% nature.

Best enjoyed between: 7-9 °C

Pair with: roast duck, beetroot salads, soft goat cheese or berry desserts.

Apple Cider with Passion Fruit

Fruit Cider, Sweet, Modern Style, Sparkling, 5% ABV, Contains sulphites

Bright gold and bursting with tropical sunshine. Juicy passion fruit meets crisp Latvian apples in a tangy-sweet duet with notes of jasmine, citrus and a touch of honeyed warmth.

Fermented from real apple juice, blended after fermentation with organic passion fruit juice for full flavor and aroma integration. No concentrates, no shortcuts.
Made from aromatic Latvian apples harvested at peak ripeness for natural sweetness and freshness.

Best enjoyed between: 6-8 °C
