Kloostrimetsa Ciderhouse
Kloostrimetsa is the northernmost cider house on the Baltic cider route.
Our Story
We are located in Northwestern Estonia, quite close to the sea, which shapes our microclimate with its young, less fertile soils, winds, dry summers, and relatively warm winters. The Kloostrimetsa brand refers to the connection with the Cistercian monks who operated in this area about 800 years ago, bringing innovations in agriculture and growing apples here since the Middle Ages.
Apples
Apples: We produce handcrafted cider only from organic apples grown in our farm's orchards. We grow both old, good farm apples and new varieties specially bred for cider production.
Apple and pear trees grow on 8 hectares. About 80 varieties of apples grow in our orchards.
Ciders
We specialize in making high-quality organic cider with minimal intervention, where cider is made from our carefully grown apples, allowing the juice to ferment naturally to ensure authenticity. The apple contains the contribution of our apple trees, soil, and climate, to which much time is added as the cider matures, with nature itself acting.
For Visitors
At Kloostrimetsa Ciderhouse, we offer guided cider tours and tastings for pre-booked groups starting from 10 people. Guests will learn about the history of the cidery, apple cultivation, the cider-making process, and more.
